Final reflexion by Camila Gómez

Durante los cuatro años de nuestra carrera han sido muy pocas las instancias en las cuales se nos plantea el desafío de tratar con alumnos reales, no imaginarios. Para precisar, didáctica de la especialidad y Vise III son los únicos cursos que nos demandan esto de la forma en que lo estoy planteando.

Sería ideal que esto ocurriera en todos los ramos, pues uno a la larga se acostumbra a “suponer” que va a hacer clases, pero luego a la hora de diseñar material para alumnos de verdad, reales, con profundas necesidades educativas uno se siente un tanto temeroso, pues esta vez no podemos suponer los sentimientos ni necesidades ya que hay niños en juego.

Realmente agradezco el tener que haberme enfrentado a una escuela municipal antes de la práctica profesional. Ahora conozco muchas más realidades sociales, y distintas necesidades educativas. La escuela Naciones Unidas me ha permitido a proyectarme más como futura profesional de la educación, permitiéndome desarrollar ciertos valores tales como la empatía que es fundamental en un profesor, cuya labor es formar personas.

La vise III me ha permitido a su vez reafirmar mis ganas por dedicarme a esto. Definitivamente no podría imaginarme en otra parte que no fuera en una sala de clases. Si bien la labor no es fácil, pero es lo más interesante que he conocido y lo único que me apasiona. Siempre me han gustado los desafíos, y díganme si formar personas no es un desafío tremendo.

Espero guardar todas las experiencias vividas y recordarlas para cuando me toque enfrentar la práctica profesional. Seguramente no será la primera vez que me enfrente a niños del ciclo básico, con cierto riesgo social y todas las características que tenían los niños del séptimo A de la escuela Naciones Unidas. Todas las experiencias que hemos vivido hasta ahora son valiosas y nos permiten aprender cada día más, pues todos los alumnos nos enseñan algo para mejorar como educadores y como personas.

All the years of our course of study there have been very few instances in which we are asked to deal with real students, not imaginary ones. To be precise, didactics and vise III are the only ones that have asked us to work in the way that I’m mentioning.

It would be ideal if we have to work like that in all the subjects. Because, finally we get used to “suppose” that we are giving classes, but then when we have to design material for real students, with deep educative needs we feel kind of afraid, because this time we can’t suppose the feelings neither the needs, because there are children in risks.

I really appreciate the fact that I had to face a public school before the professional practicum. Now I know far more social realities, and different educative needs. Naciones Unidas school have allowed me project myself more as a prospective professional in charge of the education, developing certain values such as empathy, which is fundamental in a teacher, whose work is forming people.

The vise III have allowed at the same time to reaffirm my whish to devote myself in this. Definitely, I couldn’t imagine myself in another place different from a classroom. I know it is not easy, but this work is the most interesting that I have known ever and the only one that get me enthusiastic. I have always liked the challenges, and tell me if forming better is not a great one.

I hope to remember all the experiences lived when I have to face the professional practicum. Maybe it won’t be the first time that I have to work with children from primary school, with certain social risk and all the characteristics that the children from 7º grade of Naciones Unidas School had. All the experiences that we have lived till now are really valuables and they allow us to learn more day by day, because all the students teach us something to improve our selves as teachers and as people also.

Siendo la VISE III la ultima experiencia que tenemos antes de la practica profesional, trate de aprovechar al máximo las vivencias que nos entregaron en tan poco tiempo los alumnos, algunos de los profesores del establecimiento y por supuesto nuestra profesora guía. Considero la VISE III como la experiencia más gratificante que tuvimos durante nuestra formación docente. El contacto personal y la empatía que tuvimos con los alumnos fueron realmente enriquecedores y nos permitió crecer como futuros profesionales de la educación.

Claro que esta VISE, como todas, no estuvo exenta de inconvenientes. Teniendo presente que la paralización de clases durante un periodo no nos permito cumplir con la totalidad de las actividades que teníamos en nuestro plan de trabajo, estamos complacidas con el trabajo realizado con los alumnos ya que vimos un gran esfuerzo e interés de parte de ellos por participar activamente de las actividades impartidas.

Aprovechamos al máximo cada periodo que asistíamos a la Escuela para conocer y tratar de simpatizar con las preferencias de nuestros alumnos para así poder realizar actividades considerando su conocimiento previo.

Debemos destacar que dentro de los cursos de la Escuela, los alumnos a los que instruimos eran los más “manejables” según algunos profesores, a pesar de su conducta hiperactiva y muchas veces difícil de tratar.

La confianza y el sentimiento de bienestar dentro de la sala de clases fue apareciendo a medida que conocía un poco mas a los estudiantes, los cuales fueron muy afectuosos durante el tiempo que estuvimos ayudando a la profesora y al momento de despedirse también.

Como reflexión final, pienso que el realizar la VISE III en un colegio municipal con las características de la Escuela Naciones Unidas, con niños en riesgo social y distintos problemas familiares, nos permitió tener una mejor preparación para enfrentar las dificultades que se nos pueden presentar en un futuro próximo.

Since this is the last experience that we have before the final practice, I tried to make the most of the experiences those students and some of the teachers; especially our guide teacher gave us in such a short time. I consider this VISE as the most rewarding experience that we had during our teaching formation. The personal contact and the empathy that we had with students were really enriching and let us grow as future teaching professionals.

Certainly this VISE, just like the previous one, wasn’t exempt from inconvenient. Even though classes were paralysed for a while and that didn’t let us to accomplish the activities that we had in our lesson plan, we are very placed with the job done with students because we could see a great effort and interest from them in order to participate actively in the activities given.

We use all the time spent at the school to get to know our students better and tried to sympathize with their likes so as to create activities for them considering their previous knowledge and preferences.

We must emphasize the fact that from all the classes of this school, the students that we taught were the most easily led according to some teachers, despite his restless and sometimes hard to control behaviour.

The self-confidence and the feeling of well-being were growing as I know the students a little more. They were very affectionate during the time we spent helping the teacher and even more when it was time to say goodbye.

As a final reflection, I think that doing the VISE III in a public school with the characteristics of Escuela Naciones Unidas, with children in social risk and with different family problems, allow us to have a better training in order to face the difficulties that can appear in a close future while doing our professional practice or even working as teachers.
